A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Vadlamudi in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the UT Health San Antonio. The primary research focus in Dr. Vadlamudi laboratory include characterizing the role of novel oncogenes/tumor suppressors in women cancer initiation, and identifying new molecular agents for therapeutic intervention. The project goals are to characterize novel drugs for treating breast and ovarian cancers, establish their molecular mechanism and test the utility of the drugs using preclinical models. Vadlamudi lab has track record of training the brightest postdoctoral fellows who have gone and become independent group leaders in academics.
The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. degree, motivated and should have a strong background in Protein Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, In-Fusion cloning, Lentiviral vectors, RNA isolation and quantification, recombinant protein expression and purification, Western blotting, biochemical enzyme assays, mammalian cell culture, drug testing, bioinformatics, and experience in animal handling. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication, intrapersonal and organizational skills. The candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and hardworking and have the ability to work with research animals.
