A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. William Reeves in Department of Medicine/Division of Nephrology at UT Health San Antonio. Under supervision of Dr. Reeves, Principle Investigator, this position is responsible for planning, designing, execution and analysis of experiments which examine the mechanisms of acute kidney injury. Projects include the influence of innate immune mediators, such as cytokines, TLRs, neutrophils and dendritic cells on kidney injury and recovery. Preparation of manuscripts and grant proposals is expected. Supervises the work of research technicians in the laboratory.
Experience in working with small animals, cell culture, and FACS are required. Experience with gene editing and RNA-Seq preferred. PhD degree in a relevant field required. Under FLSA, incumbents in this position are exempt.
