Position Description: 

Dr. Nu Zhang's lab in the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics, University of Texas Health Sciences Center San Antonio is seeking a postdoctoral research associate starting Oct. 1st, 2022. There are two related projects to be carried out by this individual. The first one will combine omics (RNA-seq and ATAC-seq) and mouse viral infection models to define the biology of kidney-resident T cells. The second one will use mouse models to define CD8+ T cell responses during tumor immunotherapies. Ideal candidate will be independent motivated and hard-working. He/she is expected to work closely with the PIs and demonstrate excellent communication and intrapersonal skills.

Position Requirements: 

Qualifications include a Ph.D and/or M.D. degree (awarded or expected before the starting date), significant training in molecular biology, cell biology, T cell biology and mouse models, at least one first author publication in related journals and familiar with flow cytometry and basic bioinformatics. 

Responsibilities include literature review, design and perform experiments, data analysis, reports, and manuscript preparation. The PIs are committed to trainees’ career development and will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to compete for fellowships, high-profile publications, and academic awards.
