Microscopy! I did my Ph.D. thesis on single-molecule detection and quantification by using a highly-sensitive microscope. And before that, I got the opportunity to do some virology research in live microscopy - confocal and spinning disk.
Image analysis and feature extraction are also one of my interest, being able to automatize the analysis by programming is oddly satisfying.
Otherwise, developing new protocol for biology (molecular and cellular) is also one of my interest.
