We are seeking an outstanding candidate to fill a postdoctoral position in the field of humoral immunity against malaria in Dr. Bunnik’s lab in the Dept. of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (www.bunniklab.org). The goal of the Bunnik lab is to gain a better understanding of the development of immune responses that protect against malaria using a combination of immunology, molecular biology, and genetics/genomics approaches. The candidate will be responsible for the analysis of the breadth, specificity and effector function of antibodies cloned from memory B cells of malaria-protected individuals. In parallel, we will study the evolution of these antibody responses over time using next-generation sequencing.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in a relevant field with an excellent academic track record. Research experience in immunology, parasitology or genomics would be highly preferred, but is not required. Applicants must be self-motivated, have previous publications as evidence of productivity and should have the drive and commitment to excel in a highly productive environment (http://uthscsa.edu/mimg).
Applicants should respond by email with a curriculum vitae, a brief description of research interests, and names and contact information of three references.
