A position for a senior postdoc is available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrea Giuffrida in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Our research integrates biochemistry and behavioral pharmacology to study endocannabinoid transmission in animal models of neurological and psychiatric disorders. We are also interested in the development of new pharmacological therapies for the treatment of levodopa-induced dyskinesias and neurodegeneration in Parkinson’s disease (PD).
We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with several years of experience in neuropharmacology, cell culture/signaling, stem cells, molecular biology and/or behavioral pharmacology related to animal models of PD. The ideal candidate should have a strong publication record in the above areas and is expected to apply for federal funding and supervise students and a lab technician.
To apply, please send curriculum vitae, contact information for 2-3 references, and a brief description of your research interests to Dr. Andrea Giuffrida at Giuffrida@uthscsa.edu.
