My research focuses on family caregiving to older adults living with a chronic or disabling condition, including Alzheimer’s Disease or related dementias.

Within the caregiving field, my recent studies pertain to:

1) basic behavioral research to examine the relationship between caregivers and care recipients;

2) developing and testing caregiver behavioral interventions with high potential for translation; and

3) research to inform social policies to better support family members in the caregiving role.

I use both qualitative and quantitative methods in my research, including analysis of large secondary datasets such at the Health and Retirement Study.
