Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

Entering Mentoring

The Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPA) sponsors an “Entering Mentoring” workshop series whose goals are to introduce effective strategies for successful mentoring to trainees and to foster a mentoring ethos in them. Four consecutive weekly modules explore proven approaches to the development and enhancement of effective mentoring relationships that includes diversity-sensitivity training.

Although targeted primarily at early career scientists (postdoctoral research fellows and advanced graduate students) who directly mentor trainees working biomedical research, this workshop series is also available to junior faculty. A certificate is provided upon completion. Attendance is required at all four modules.

Schedule

The four modules are typically held yearly in the Spring.
