Posted Date:

Position Description

Two postdoctoral positions are available in the research laboratory of Dr. Mingjiang Xu ( https://directory.uthscsa.edu/academics/profile/xum1 ) at the Department of Molecular Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. The focus of the lab is investigating roles of TET2 mutations and lncRNA dysregulation in myeloid malignancies.  The successful candidate will perform highly interdisciplinary and collaborative scientific research to define the epigenetic and molecular mechanisms by which TET2 mutations or deregulation of oncogenic lncRNAs lead to myeloid malignancies using both animal models and primary human samples.

Position Requirements

These positions require a PhD degree (or equivalent) in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, cancer biology, or closely related biological sciences. Any prior experience in hematopoiesis and RNA biology, mouse models, and bioinformatics analyses will be greatly valued and encouraged to apply. The ideal applicant is a goal oriented, pro-active and hard-working individual with excellent organizational skills who is passionate about making a difference in cancer research.

San Antonio is one of the fastest growing cities. The UT Health San Antonio is the largest university of health science in South Texas and one of four medical schools in the UT System.
