Position Description
Dr. Chen’s laboratory is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to contribute to NIH-funded research examining the molecular signaling pathways involved in dentin formation and regeneration. The project investigates the roles of DSPP-derived peptides and associated signaling mechanisms in odontoblast differentiation, dentin development, and vascular formation. This research aims to advance understanding of inherited dentin disorders and support the development of future dentin regeneration strategies. Responsibilities include conducting cellular and molecular experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to scientific publications and presentations.
Position Requirements
Candidates should have research experience in molecular signaling, cellular differentiation, tissue development, or regenerative biology and have a strong interest in molecular mechanisms underlying tissue development and regeneration. Experience with laboratory research, cellular and molecular biology techniques, tissue sectioning, histochemistry in particular tooth tissues, and experimental data analysis is preferred. Familiarity with cell signaling pathways, gene editing, or animal models is desirable.
How to Apply
Interested applicants should send a cover letter describing your research experience/skills, a curriculum vitae (CV) and the contact information of three referees to Dr. Shuo Chen (CHENS0@uthscsa.edu).
