Position Description
STRONG STAR Consortium and Training Initiative within the UT San Antonio Health Science Center Division of Behavioral Medicine is seeking a competent and motivated postdoctoral fellow to work alongside Drs. Katy Dondanville and David Rozek in expanding research and implementation of programs for initiatives related to suicide prevention and improving the impact of treatments for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Candidates with training in psychology, social work, public health, quantitative methods, and related areas are welcome to apply. Several ongoing projects will be available to work on including intervention studies working with individuals at elevated risk for suicide, interventions studies to improve outcomes of PTSD treatment using digital interventions, and implementation science studies related to improving the implementation of suicide prevention strategies in the community. Fellows will be encouraged to start their own projects as well.
Prior postdoctoral fellows at STRONG STAR have published articles in high quality, peer-reviewed journals, co-authored book chapters, and presented research at local, national, and international conferences. Other achievements by STRONG STAR fellows include being awarded student loan repayment through the NIH and being hired on as faculty of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences following fellowship.
Position Requirements
Qualifications for this position include a doctoral degree psychology, social work, public health, or a related field. Previous experience with military service members, veterans, or beneficiaries are preferred but all applications are welcomed.
Our fellows receive a competitive salary ($62,232) as well as exceptional health care and retirement benefits. All applicants must have the unrestricted ability to work in the US. Second year funding is available for fellows with pay at $62,652, pending budgetary approval and successful completion of the first year.
