Position Description

Dr. Nu Zhang’s lab at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics, University of Texas Health San Antonio, USA is seeking a postdoctoral research fellow starting in spring 2024. The project is focused on tumor-specific T-cell responses during tumor immunotherapies as well as T cell exhaustion during chronic viral infection (see our recent publications, Nat Commun. 2022. 13:6043. and J. Exp. Med. 2022, 219 (10): e20211538.). The ideal candidate will be independent, motivated and hard-working. He/she is expected to work closely with the PIs and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities will include literature review, experimental design and performing experiments, data analysis, reports, and manuscript preparation. The PIs are committed to trainees’ career development and will provide opportunities for the successful candidate to compete for fellowships, high-profile publications, and academic awards. 

Position Requirements

Must have a Ph.D and/or M.D. degree (awarded or expected before the starting date), significant training in molecular biology, cell biology, immunology and mouse models, at least one first-author publication in related journals, and familiar with flow cytometry and basic bioinformatics.
