Position Description

Postdoctoral fellow position available in the Laboratory of Dr. Lei Zheng, Department of Medicine - Mays Cancer Center (UT San Antonio Health Science Center), to develop TCR-based T cell therapy and natural T cell epitope-based cancer vaccine for pancreatic cancer treatment. 

 The key responsibilities of the position:

  • Mouse surgery
  • Tissue culture
  • Immunology assays: ELISPOT, HLA-restricted peptidome identification and validation, flow cytometry, cytokine analysis, liposomal nanoparticle-based cancer vaccine experiment, nanoparticle-based cancer drug experiment.
  • Bioinformatics: Mass-spectrometry-based peptidome analysis
  • Basic computer skills, preparing manuscript and general lab organization

Position Requirements

  • M.D. or Ph.D.
  • Skills with mouse surgery, immunology assays,  immune-affinity purification, mass spectrometry analysis, nanoparticle-based cancer drug design, liposomal nanoparticle-based cancer vaccine design
  • Strong work ethic and critical thinking
  • Open-minded, creative, enthusiastic personality and good collaboration skills
